WWE May Release Former World Champion Next Week

WWE may move Gunther to SmackDown following his brutal assault on Michael Cole and Pat McAfee during this week’s RAW broadcast.

Gunther’s shocking attack on commentary team Michael Cole and Pat McAfee during WWE RAW could lead to significant consequences for The Ring General. Reports suggest WWE may remove the former Intercontinental Champion from RAW and transfer him to SmackDown as punishment for his actions.

The incident occurred when Gunther, still reeling from his WrestleMania loss to Jey Uso, suddenly assaulted Cole at the announce table. When McAfee attempted to intervene, Gunther turned his aggression toward the color commentator, choking him unconscious as the crowd rallied behind McAfee. Cole subsequently demanded WWE release Gunther for the unprovoked attack.

According to PWN’s Coy Hays, WWE creative appears to be considering a brand switch rather than suspension or termination. The report indicates Gunther would likely join SmackDown since an NXT move seems improbable for the established main roster star. However, the timing of any potential transfer remains unclear.

This development follows Gunther’s record-breaking Intercontinental Championship reign and recent transition into a more volatile character after losing the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania.

The brand switch could reposition him as SmackDown’s newest dominant force while creating fresh matchups on Friday nights.

Chelsea Green, the current WWE Women’s United States Champion, has intensified her rivalry with Zelina Vega following two back-to-back losses on SmackDown. After suffering defeats in consecutive matches, Green took to social media to directly address Vega’s recent actions.

The first clash between the two occurred two weeks ago. During that match, Green lost by countout after getting distracted by an argument with the commentary team. Frustrated by the outcome, she later approached SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis to demand a rematch. Aldis responded by scheduling another singles match for the following week.

In the rematch, Zelina Vega secured a clean pinfall victory over the Women’s United States Champion. Soon after, Vega shared a GIF of the match’s finish on social media, highlighting her second straight win over Green.

Chelsea Green quickly replied with a sarcastic yet pointed warning. “I will invoke the Sedition Act if you keep this up!!!!! 🫡🇺🇸”, she wrote, reacting to Vega’s post.

The tension between both competitors continues to rise, signaling that the feud is far from over as Green looks to bounce back from these setbacks.

WWE Legend Set to Confront Paul Heyman After 600 Days?

Brock Lesnar may return to WWE after 629 days to confront Paul Heyman and support Roman Reigns and CM Punk. Learn what could happen next.

Published

on

Speculation is growing about a possible return of Brock Lesnar to WWE, which would mark his first appearance in nearly 629 days. His last match took place at SummerSlam on August 5, 2023. Currently, Paul Heyman is aligned with Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker, both of whom have recently taken out Roman Reigns and CM Punk on RAW.

During the recent episode of WWE RAW, Bron Breakker made a decisive move by spearing Reigns and joining forces with Rollins and Paul Heyman. This new alliance has shifted the balance of power, raising questions about how Reigns and Punk might respond.

Brock Lesnar, a former client of Paul Heyman, shares a long and storied history with the Wiseman. Their relationship fractured when Heyman sided with Reigns, sparking renewed rivalry between Reigns and Lesnar in the past. Given this background, some now speculate that Lesnar could return to confront Heyman once again.

If Lesnar does come back, his appearance could escalate the ongoing feud. A confrontation with Heyman might trigger an attack from Rollins and Breakker, potentially pushing Lesnar to align with Reigns and Punk. This would set the stage for a major faction war.

While there has been no official confirmation regarding Lesnar’s return, the idea remains plausible within the current storyline. His involvement could drive major developments in the weeks ahead, especially as the angle between these top names continues to evolve.

Ethan Page Betrays Frankie Kazarian During TNA iMPACT! Main Event

Published

on

Ethan Page and Frankie Kazarian teamed up in the main event of the April 24 episode of TNA iMPACT!, facing Elijah and TNA World Champion Joe Hendry. While their performance as a team remained solid throughout most of the match, the ending took a sharp turn when Page refused to tag in. This opened the door for Elijah to hit Kazarian with a CrossRhodes, followed by a Tombstone, leading to the pinfall.

The betrayal appeared to be a calculated move. Both Ethan Page and Frankie Kazarian are set to compete for the TNA World Championship at Rebellion. By leaving Kazarian weakened, Page may have been looking to gain an advantage ahead of their title clash.

Page’s decision to abandon his partner mid-match underscored the “every man for himself” mentality that often comes into play when multiple challengers are involved in a high-stakes title match.
